HODT – Corrosion Protection since 1913

When Alfred Hodt founded his company of the same name in 1913, he laid the foundation for a long-lasting story of success, which continues until today. Although the company – due to two world wars – had to start again and again from scratch, it is lead already in the fourth generation and counts with good reason to one of the most important companies in the corrosion prevention sector.

This is mainly due to the grandson of the company founder, Jürgen Wulff-Hodt, who in 1963 decided to take over the family business from his grandfather and who understood to rebuilt the company with great dedication and skill. First, with the traditional import and export of fish oils as well as animal and vegetable oils and fats; then in 1975 he also took over the exclusive distribution of the corrosion protection products, FLUID FILM, from the Eureka Chemical Company, San Francisco, for Europe.

The permanently active corrosion protection

The FLUID FILM products, which are based on wool grease, form a soft coating for long-term corrosion protection. Since they do not contain any solvents, they stand out from conventional corrosion inhibitors due to their environmental friendliness.
Thanks to their penetration and creep properties, they not only protect against new rust formation, but also stop the existing rust. FLUID FILM is available in different grades of viscosity, allowing a wide range of applications in different areas.

In 2000, we launched another corrosion protection product under the name PERMA FILM.
The curing coating offers an economical and efficient alternative for the new requirements of repairs and renewal of defective initial coatings in the ballast water area of ships, as well as underbody protection in the automotive industry.
