The easiest way to find your closest retailer is by accessing our dealer locator. Just click on Purchase on the left hand menu of the website to find it. FLUID FILM is also sold nationally through John Deere farm equipment stores. There is a John Deere locator available on our website under the Purchase section as well, and you could also access a list of online FLUID FILM dealers under that section.

FLUID FILM is classified as non-toxic and non-hazardous and contains less than one percent VOC content, helping to eliminate the use of ozone-depleting chemicals in the atmosphere. FLUID FILM contains no solvents, phenols, heavy metals, arsenic, pcb’s, pc’s, tcdd’s or other dioxin related substances. It is manufactured using an all natural lanolin base.

FLUID FILM will not harm paint. It can be sprayed directly on painted surfaces without any harmful effects.

No, FLUID FILM has no adverse effects on plastics or oil-resistant synthetic rubbers. On 100% natural rubber, some swelling can occur.

Because FLUID FILM leaves a wet, non-drying film and imbeds itself in the pores of the metal, any surface treated with FLUID FILM should be wiped down with a good biodegradable cleaner before painting.

FLUID FILM is not formulated to remove rust. However, if applied over existing rust, it will stop it immediately from spreading further. FLUID FILM will penetrate rust and rust scale to the base metal, loosening and easing in the removal process.

FLUID FILM is an excellent way to protect battery terminals. Because FLUID FILM is non-conductive, make your connections before applying. The non-drying characteristics of FLUID FILM will provide long term protection in this application.

Because FLUID FILM remains wet, it will get an initial dusting upon application, but because it contains no solvents and will not become sticky, it will not gum up or create a build up of dirt.

No, FLUID FILM is not biodegradable.

No. FLUID FILM is non-conductive and will not harm electrical connections. Make sure that all connections are made before applying FLUID FILM.

FLUID FILM works very well in locks. FLUID FILM will provide long term lubrication in a lock assembly. In cold weather applications, FLUID FILM will keep locks from freezing, and since FLUID FILM contains no solvent, it will not get gummy or create a build-up of dirt. Do not over-apply; a light application is all that is necessary.

FLUID FILM is an excellent leather conditioner, and will soften and weather proof leather work boots.

FLUID FILM will prevent snow from sticking to snow blowers, snow shovels, snow mobiles, etc. and will also keep locks from freezing. It works in sub-zero weather conditions. Application may be required before each use.

FLUID FILM is an all purpose chain lube due to its non-solvent application. Spray FLUID FILM directly on the chain, wiping off excess with a clean rag. FLUID FILM will migrate into all areas, providing long-lasting lubrication and protection from rust. Great on bicycle chains as well.

Yes. Apply FLUID FILM to a clean dry rag, rubbing into metal surface as would be done with a polish or a wax. Will not leave fingerprints or affect bluing. The lanolin base of FLUID FILM will also act as a conditioner on wood stock. FLUID FILM will hold up in extreme conditions.

The first recommendation is to thoroughly mix the product. FLUID FILM is thixotropic, and will get heavier upon sitting. Achieving room temperature with the product will help as well. If a thinner version is wanted, start by mixing a small amount of vegetable oil to the product until the desired consistency is reached. It is not recommended that FLUID FILM be used in a pump type sprayer even after thinning. Airless paint spraying equipment is what is recommended for proper application, applied at approximately 2000 PSI as a minimum.

No. FLUID FILM is a lanolin based product containing no solvents. It will not evaporate or dry from the surface. FLUID FILM will leave a wet, non-drying film, that will provide long term corrosion protection on all metals and superior lubrication for all moving parts.

Wet grass will stick to almost any surface. Applying FLUID FILM will prevent any corrosion from occurring and ease in removal of grass build up.

FLUID FILM will protect all metals from oxidation and atmospheric corrosion, including steel, copper, lead, tin and zinc. It will stop chrome and brass from pitting and aluminum and magnesium from oxidizing.

No. The most efficient way to apply FLUID FILM in its bulk form is with the use of standard airless paint spraying equipment. Airless paint sprayers operate under high pressure, usually between 1500 – 3500 PSI, which atomize paint into tiny droplets, propelling them towards the desired equipment. We recommend a minimum of around 2000 PSI. Applied at a film thickness of 3 – 4 mil, this will cover approximately 250 sq. ft. per gallon. We also recommend a spray tip of between 515 -517 for best atomization.

Where most products contain between seventy and ninety percent solvent, FLUID FILM contains none except for its propellant, meaning long lasting lubrication and protection. With no solvent, FLUID FILM won’t evaporate or become sticky or gummy, allowing it to migrate to other areas for lubrication or protection. With its unique lanolin base, FLUID FILM will actually imbed itself in the pores of metal, resisting wash off and keeping moisture and oxygen from getting to the base metal. Containing no solvent content, FLUID FILM lends itself to numerous applications where the comparative solvent-based products would not even be considered.

The bulk flash point of FLUID FILM NAS is 405 F.

No. FLUID FILM will not burn greenery.

The Shelf life of FLUID FILM is indefinite. In its aerosol form, FLUID FILM is guaranteed for one year from the date of purchase.

The natural creep and penetration properties of FLUID FILM allow application even at low ambient temperatures.
For application with pressure cup guns, FLUID FILM Liquid A should be stored at room temperature.
FLUID FILM NAS can be sprayed either by stirring or by heating to temperatures above 25°C.
FLUID FILM Liquid AR becomes liquid at temperatures above 45°C, but a material temperature of approximately 60°C is recommended.

FLUID FILM and PERMA FILM work together as a system. FLUID FILM is a soft coating that penetrates the surface and does not harden. When PERMA FILM is applied over FLUID FILM, the two components bond to form a grip- and abrasion-resistant surface. However, if the ratio between the two components is incorrect, the desired effect will not be achieved. If the proportion of FLUID FILM is too high, the final coating remains too soft and does not dry. It will only harden when an additional layer of PERMA FILM is applied. The ratio between the two components is then balanced again.

HODT MULTI FILM’s viscosity can be reduced by adding distilled water. However, please note that this will reduce the dry film thickness after curing.
To avoid excessively low viscosity, the distilled water should be added only drop by drop.

HODT MULTI FILM is very suitable as a primer. We’ve heard nothing but positive experiences with painting over HODT MULTI FILM with other paints.
However, since there are so many different paints available on the market, we recommend a test application.

In dry weather, the vehicle is immediately drivable, but should only be driven on paved roads.
The PERMA FILM coating should cure sufficiently after 12 hours, allowing driving even in rainy weather.
The PERMA FILM coating should not be pressure-washed for the first two weeks.

Both variants are possible. FLUID FILM creates a permanently soft protective film, while PERMA FILM becomes grip and abrasion-resistant after a curing period.
The application on flexible brake lines made of a rubber-plastic mixture is uncritical. The properties of the brake lines remain unaffected.

Yes, the PERMA FILM system can also be used on chassis components. This combination is suitable for both rusted areas and painted surfaces and bare metal.
Thus the chassis components are also protected from corrosion and stone chips

FLUID FILM penetrates existing wax or bitumen coatings and re-plasticizes them. This creates a slightly greasy surface coating that naturally absorbs dirt or is washed off over time during frequent driving in the rain. Applying an additional layer of PERMA FILM creates a grip- and abrasion-resistant surface. This has the advantage that dirt does not adhere to the underbody. Furthermore, the coating can withstand even heavy splash water or high-pressure washing.

No, PERMA FILM becomes brittle at higher temperatures and loses its bond to the surface. However, it can be applied near engines because it is temperature-stable up
to 70°C.

This depends on the condition of the vehicle and the desired effect. Both products are suitable for vehicle protection.
PERMA FILM is applied as part of a system with FLUID FILM. FLUID FILM acts as an active primer and has the advantage of penetrating deep into the rust. PERMA FILM then acts as a passive topcoat, and in a system with Fluid Film, a flexible surface is created. Precise adherence to the layer thicknesses is essential.
HODT MULTI FILM is applied without FLUID FILM and cures. It can be applied to paint coatings, bare metal, or stubborn rust. It can also be overcoated with commercially available paints (please test first). Different layer thicknesses are not necessary.

For cleaning PERMA FILM from leather seats, cleaning petrol is suitable

It’s not possible to make a general statement about the durability of PERMA FILM coatings on vehicle underbodies. Durability depends on various factors. For example, frequent driving on unpaved roads, road salt in winter, or humid conditions can cause the protection to wear off more quickly. We always recommend an annual inspection of the surfaces, allowing any minor mechanical damage to be repaired locally.
PERMA FILM was originally developed as a repair coating for ballast water tanks. In these cases, inspections are usually carried out every five years during the scheduled shipyard inspection and a touch-up is added.

Yes, HODT MULTI FILM also protects against salt on winter maintenance vehicles. After drying, it forms a diffusion-tight film that prevents moisture and salt from penetrating.
HODT MULTI FILM can be applied to bare metal or painted surfaces. It also complements existing corrosion protection, even on winter vehicles.
Even rust-affected parts can be protected or, used as a primer, recoated with conven

No! PERMA FILM, when used in conjunction with FLUID FILM, is an excellent underbody protection system that forms an abrasion-resistant surface after the curing phase. This protects the underbody from splash water and stone chips.
For effective cavity sealing, a penetrating corrosion protection system is recommended. We recommend FLUID FILM, which, thanks to its permanent penetrating properties, reliably reaches even hard-to-reach areas.
